Beach Holidays

If you love the sea as much as we do, let us tell you about our secret hide-out places.  If you love surfing, there is no better place than Jeffrey's Bay.  In July every year the Corona Open  is held here and JBay is transformed into surfer's paradise. Jeffreys Bay is relaxed, the weather is beautiful and the beaches absolutely stunning.  The waves are the best and accommodation here varies from dirt cheap Backpackers to Surf Villas to Five star luxury suites & cottages in the area.  Our favourite is Diaz 15, a luxury villa right on the beach.  You have a 180deg vista of the sea with regular sightings of dolphins and whales in season.  Further away and out of town, we recommend Oyster Bay Lodge for a relaxing stay. They offer horse back rides on their private beach and some of the most romantic walks on the endless untouched sand dunes.  In town there are plenty restaurants and if you are spending the day, 'Kitchen Windows' is one of the best places to have seafood and some traditional meals -- right on the beach with a 180deg seaview, it really doesn't get any better than that!

Along the Garden Route, Wilderness must be one of our favourite places.  It is unspoilt and not as commercial as Knysna. Knysna is certainly worth the visit, but we would rather base ourselves out of town and enjoy the tranquility and scenery, but close enough to drive around exploring the area. Our favourite guest house in Wilderness is undoubtedly The Dune, where Gary and his wife Melisa will make you feel at home in their luxurious and yet affordable guesthouse, right on the beach, only a few steps away from the breaking waves.

Victoria Bay, Buffelsbaai, Agulhas, Arniston, De Hoop, Plettenberg Bay, Hermanus are all towns worth a visit.

Cape Town has gorgeous beaches, including Boulders, Bikini Beach, Clifton or Sandy Bay for those who want to bare all!

Warmer water can be found in the Kwazulu Natal area, where Durban, Ballito, Margate etc etc are all wonderfully near each other and you can hop from beach to beach.
